What Are Templates?
Templates (previously called default entities) are a feature in CAKE designed to streamline our user's everyday workflows. Specifically, this feature allows the user to predefine, and save into templates, the names, settings, events, rules, and much more associated with their advertisers and offers. These templates can then be selected when adding new advertisers and offers into the system to significantly reduce setup time, and help maintain consistency across related setups.
How To Add An Advertiser Or Offer Templates
To add an advertiser or offer template in your system, follow these steps:
- Click on the Setup main tab
- Click on the Settings sub tab
- Click on the Default Entities tab
- Click the Add button above the template grid
- Add a Name for your template
- Select an Entity (advertiser or offer)
- Click Next and Finish
- In the Template grid, Click the name of the template you just added
- Adjust any available field to your liking and click Save
How To Assign An Advertiser Template
Once you have created an advertiser template, you can select it when adding a new advertiser by following these steps:
- Click on the Action Menu icon on the top right corner of your window
- Navigate to the Advertisers section
- Click the Plus icon
- Select the name of your advertiser template from the Template dropdown

How To Assign An Offer Template
Once you have created an offer template, you can select it when adding a new offer by following these steps:
- Click on the Action Menu icon on the top right of your window
- Navigate to the Offers section
- Click the Plus icon
- Select the name of your offer template from the Template dropdown
- Click Next and Finish
How To Assign An Offer Template To An Advertiser
Since advertisers are parents to offers in our hierarchy, you have the option to assign an offer template to an advertiser. This will ensure that any offers you create under that advertiser will automatically inherit the settings configured in the assigned offer template.
To assign an offer template per advertiser, follow these steps:
- Open an Advertiser Card
- Navigate to the Home tab
- Click the Advanced sub tab
- Select the name of your offer template from the Offer Template dropdown
- Click Save
Note:
If you have an offer template assigned to your advertiser, you still have the option to override with an alternative offer template when adding a new offer. The currently assigned offer template will always pre-pop the associated settings.

Copy offer functionality will be coming in a later phase of this project.
Why can't I add multiple campaign templates?
Today, there is only one default campaign template that applies to every campaign added to your system. Adding multiple campaign templates is being considered for a later phase of this project.
