This article will cover the following:
How to Customize Events Per Campaign
By default, an Event's payout and settings are inherited from the Offer level. You can override these settings on a per-Campaign basis — for example, to pay a specific Affiliate a different payout for an Event, or to enable/disable an Event for a particular Campaign.
- Navigate to the Campaign Card for the relevant Campaign.
- Click the Events tab.
- The Events applied to the parent Offer are listed. Click the pencil icon next to the Event you want to customize.
- Modify the Payout, Revenue, or other settings as needed.
- Click Save.
How to Generate Event Pixels
Event Pixels are placed on the Advertiser's website or app and fire when the Event action occurs, notifying CAKE to record the Event. CAKE generates a unique pixel for each Event on each Offer.
To generate an Event Pixel:
- Navigate to the Offer Card and click the Events tab.
- Click the pixel icon next to the Event you want to generate a pixel for.
- Select your pixel type — Image, iFrame, JavaScript, or Server Postback.
- Copy the generated pixel code and provide it to your Advertiser for placement on the Event confirmation page or trigger point.
The pixel URL includes the Offer ID and Event ID so CAKE can correctly attribute each firing to the right Event and Campaign.
How to Configure Event Caps
Event Caps limit the number of times a specific Event can be recorded within a defined time period. This is useful for controlling payout exposure, limiting free trial signups, or capping in-app purchases per Affiliate.
Caps can be configured at the Offer level (applying to all Campaigns) or at the Campaign level (applying to a specific Affiliate's Campaign only).
To configure an Event Cap:
- Navigate to the Offer Card (or Campaign Card for Campaign-level caps) and click the Events tab.
- Click the pencil icon next to the Event.
- Scroll to the Caps section.
- Set the Cap Type (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Overall), the Cap Value (maximum number of Events), and the Cap Action (what happens when the cap is reached — typically redirect or reject).
- Click Save.
When an Event Cap is reached, subsequent Event fires will be handled according to the Cap Action configured — either redirecting the traffic or returning a reject response.
