What is the Lead Posting Document and Post Keys?
The lead posting document provides you and your affiliate partners with the details necessary to post leads into CAKE via Server or Browser post. The Lead Posting Document will show the Lead Fields, whether or not they're required, details on how to send a test lead, and the Post Keys which allow access and provide attribution for server posted leads.
How to Generate the Lead Posting Document
The Lead Posting Document also referred to as the posting instructions, can be generated by clicking on the Posting Doc button on the home tab of the Vertical card, Offer card, or the Campaign card.
If you will be hosting the form on your landing page, we suggest generating the Posting Document from the Offer card, as you might have Offer-specific lead validation that would not be displayed on the Posting Document if generated from the Vertical card. If you will be providing the document to an Affiliate, it should be generated from the Campaign card.
How to Generate Lead Post Keys
Lead Post Keys can only be generated from a Campaign card so that leads server posted into CAKE will be attributed to the correct Campaign.
To generate Post Keys to manually send them to your Affiliate, follow these steps:
- Open the Campaign card
- Click on the Show Post Keys button on the Home tab
- Click Next
- Copy and Paste the Campaign ID and Post Key to your Affiliate
- Click Finish to close the wizard
To email the Posting Document and Post Keys to your Affiliate, follow these steps:
- Open the Campaign card
- Click the Send Posting Doc button
- Select the Contact(s)
- Click Next to review
- Click Finish to email the information
Note:
Affiliates can also access the Posting Document and the Post Keys for their Campaign in the Affiliate Portal.
