Creating Custom Views in Reports

This article will cover:

What are Custom Views?

CAKE allows you to customize your reporting view based off the filters and metrics you use most. The Custom Views functionality is available in every report within the Reports tab.

You can share Custom Views with other team members so they can quickly access the same report, or you can make the views private if they’re specific to you.

How to Create Custom Views

To use Custom Views, click on the “Edit View” icon in the top right of your report (it looks like a notepad and pencil.) The “Edit View” icon will open a wizard for you to make changes. You will see three sections represented: Filters, Drill-downs and Columns.

Custom Views: Filters

The left hand section of the “Edit View” wizard allows you to update the Filters (e.g. Affiliate, Campaign, Date Range) that are easily accessible in your report view.

  • To enable a Filter, tick the box to the right of the Filter name

  • To hide a Filter, untick the box to the right of the Filter

  • To save a selected value in the Filter, select a value in the drop-down or type in a value

    • For example, you can set “Week to Date” in the Date Range filter so that your report defaults to show stats based off of the current week’s data

Custom Views: Drill-downs

In the middle section of the “Edit View” wizard, you can add Drill-downs into your reports. Drill-downs allow you to dive deeper into the performance of a particular entity and vary depending on the report in use. For example, if you’re looking at an Affiliate report, you would use the Campaign Drill-down to see the performance of a particular Affiliate's Campaigns.

  • To enable a Drill-down to your view, tick the box to the right of the Drill-down name

  • To hide a Drill-down, untick the box to the right of the Drill-down

  • To re-order Drill-downs, click and drag the re-order icon to the left of the Drill-down name

Custom Views: Columns

The right hand section in the “Edit View” wizard allows you to update the metrics displayed in the columns of your report view. For example, on a Campaign table report, you might want to see the Cost, Revenue and Conversion Rate.

  • To enable a Column, tick the box to the right of the Column name

  • To hide a Column, untick the box to the right of the Column name

  • To rename a Column, double-click on the name and you can type in a new name

    • For example, you may prefer to see “Percentage” displayed as “Conversion Rate” or “CVR”

  • To reorder these Columns, click and drag the re-order icon to the left of the Column name

  • To create a new Column, click the Add Column button to give it a name and input the Regex formula for the Custom Column Calculation

How to Save New Views

To save your Customized Report view, follow these steps:

  1. Click Create New View
