This article will cover the following:
What Notifications CAKE Can Send
CAKE can automatically send email alerts when specific activity thresholds are reached — so you don't have to log in and check manually.
- An offer cap (daily, monthly, or total) reaching a percentage you define — for example, 80% consumed.
- An offer cap being fully reached, which pauses traffic automatically.
- Conversion volume crossing a set threshold within a time period.
- Payout thresholds being met for an affiliate or campaign.
- Affiliate or advertiser account status changes.
Note:
The exact notification types available to you depend on your user role. Account managers typically have access to all notification types. Affiliates and advertisers see notifications relevant to their own activity.

How to Set Up a Notification
1
Go to Admin in the top navigation, then select Notifications from the left-hand menu.
2
Click Add Notification to open the setup form.
3
In the Recipient field, enter the email address that should receive this alert. You can add multiple addresses separated by commas.
4
Choose a Trigger from the dropdown — for example, "Offer Cap Percentage Reached" or "Conversion Threshold Exceeded."
5
Set the Threshold — the number or percentage that fires the alert. For cap alerts, this is typically a percentage like 80.
6
Select the specific Offer or scope the notification applies to, if prompted.
7
Click Save. The notification is now active and fires automatically when conditions are met.
Tip:
Set up multiple notifications for the same offer — for example, one at 80% and another at 100% — so you get a warning before the cap is hit, and a confirmation when it is.

Offer Cap Alerts
| Cap Type | What It Controls | When an Alert Is Useful |
|---|---|---|
| Daily Cap | Maximum conversions per day | High-volume campaigns that can exhaust a daily budget before end of day |
| Monthly Cap | Maximum conversions per calendar month | Budget-controlled campaigns where monthly spend needs to stay within limits |
| Global Cap | Maximum conversions for the lifetime of the offer | Limited-run promotions or fixed-budget campaigns |
To add a cap alert to an existing offer:
1
Navigate to Offers and open the offer you want to set an alert for.
2
Go to the Caps tab within the offer settings.
3
Confirm the cap is configured. If no cap is set, alerts for that cap type won't fire.
4
Return to Admin > Notifications and add a new notification using the "Offer Cap Percentage Reached" trigger. Set the threshold and link it to this offer.
Caution:
If an offer has no cap value set, cap percentage alerts won't trigger — there's nothing to measure against. Make sure a cap value is saved on the offer before setting up cap alerts.

Email Alert Configuration
Choosing Recipients
You can send alerts to any valid email address — it doesn't have to belong to a CAKE user account. This makes it easy to loop in a media buyer, operations contact, or external advertiser who doesn't log in to CAKE directly.
Alert Frequency
CAKE sends the alert once when the threshold is first crossed within a cap period. You won't receive repeated emails every time another conversion comes in after the threshold.
Note:
For daily cap alerts, the alert resets each day when the cap resets. You'll receive a new alert each day the threshold is crossed again.

Troubleshooting Missing Alerts
- Check that the offer has a cap value configured.
- Confirm the notification is set to Active status.
- Ask recipients to check their spam or junk folder and whitelist the sender address.
- Verify the email address in the recipient field has no typos.
How to Edit or Delete a Notification
1
Go to Admin > Notifications.
2
Find the notification you want to change. Filter by trigger type or offer to narrow the list.
3
To edit, click the notification name or the edit icon. Update any field — recipient, trigger, threshold, or offer — then click Save.
4
To delete, click the delete icon (trash can) next to the notification and confirm when prompted. Deletion is permanent.
Caution:
Deleting a notification removes it immediately and cannot be undone. If you're unsure whether it's still needed, consider editing the recipient list to a placeholder address rather than deleting it outright.
