How to Implement a TUNE (HasOffers) Postback URL

What is a TUNE Postback URL?

A TUNE Postback URL is used to configure server-to-server tracking between CAKE and your affiliate’s TUNE Partner Marketing Platform. The Postback URL, commonly referred to as a server-pixel, notifies TUNE when the affiliate receives attribution for a conversion or event.


A prerequisite to server-to-server tracking using a Postback URL is to configure the tracking link to pass the session identifier. Once you generate a tracking link, either from the Admin Portal or the Affiliate Portal, the following modifications need to be made to pass the required tracking parameters for attribution.

Example CAKE Tracking Link before modification:

https://caketrackinglink.com/?a=1&c=2&s1=

  1. Designate an open CAKE Sub ID: s2, s3, s4 or s5

  2. Add the TUNE Transaction ID Macro, {transaction_id} to the CAKE Sub ID (e.g. s2)

Example CAKE Tracking link after it has been modified:

https://caketrackinglink.com/?a=1&c=2&s1=&s2={transaction_id}


How to Configure the TUNE Postback URL

Once the TUNE Postback URL has been generated, make the following modifications to pass the required tracking values to TUNE at the time of conversion.

  1. Identify the CAKE Sub ID used in the previous step for the TUNE Transaction ID, e.g. s2

  2. Add the Sub ID Token (#s2) to the Transaction ID parameter on the TUNE Postback URL

Where to Place the TUNE Postback URL in CAKE

Once you configure the TUNE Postback URL, you will add it to either the CAKE Admin Portal or the CAKE Affiliate Portal. See below for directions.

From the Campaign card in the CAKE Admin Portal, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Pixel tab

  2. Place the updated TUNE Postback URL in the Postback URL field
