What Are Advertiser Sub IDs?
Advertiser Sub IDs are a feature in CAKE that allow you or your Advertiser (whoever manages the CAKE pixel) to track and report on up to 10 additional fields of information (meta data) with each conversion. The use cases are endless but commonly, this feature is used to gain more insight about the consumer and details of what they purchased. Optionally, this data can be shared with your affiliates in the affiliate portal and/or in any tracking pixels they have hosted in the CAKE system.
How To Add Advertiser Sub IDs Parameters To A Pixel
To add advertiser sub id parameters to the CAKE conversion pixel, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Offer card
- Click on the Pixel button
- Check the box for Include Advertiser Sub IDs
- Click Next
- Click to copy the pixel and provide to your Dev contact

How To View Advertiser Sub IDs On The Conversion Card
Once conversion tracking is live, the Conversion card in CAKE will automatically report the advertiser sub id values that were passed on each conversion. The values will be located under Conversion Information > Event Name tab.

You may need to scroll down on the conversion card to view all 10 parameters.
How To Enable Advertiser Sub ID Columns In The Admin Portal Conversion Report
Advertiser sub ids will also be available for reporting in the Admin Conversion Report as well as the Affiliate Portal Conversion report.
To add advertiser sub id reporting columns to the Admin Conversion report, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Reports main tab
- Click on Conversions sub tab
- In the top right corner of the report, click the Edit View icon
- Scroll down and check the box next to each advertiser sub id column you would like to display
- Click the Close button to keep the reporting columns present for your session
- Optionally, click the Update View or Create New View button to lock the reporting columns in by default
Note:
Advertiser Sub ID columns are not displayed in the Admin Conversion Report by default. They must be enabled following the steps above. Advertiser Sub ID fields are available through the Admin REPORT EventConversions API V18.
How To Enable Advertiser Sub ID Columns In The Affiliate Portal Conversion Report
To add advertiser sub id reporting columns to the Affiliate Portal Conversion Report, follow these steps:
- Navigate to any Affiliate card
- On the Home tab, click the Login button to virtually log into the Affiliate Portal
- Navigate to the Reports main tab
- Click the Conversion Report sub tab
- In the top right corner of the report, click the Edit View icon
- Scroll down and check the box next to each advertiser sub id column you would like to display
- Click the Close button to keep the reporting columns present for your session
- Optionally, click the Update View or Create New View buttons to lock the reporting columns in by default
Note:
Advertiser Sub ID columns are not displayed in the Affiliate Conversion Report by default. They must be enabled following the steps above. Additionally, Advertiser Sub IDs are not shown in the Affiliate Conversion API by default. To make them accessible to the API navigate to Setup > Settings > Affiliate Portal Settings > enable Include Advertiser Sub IDs in API.
How To Locate Advertiser Sub ID Tokens For Affiliate Postbacks/Pixels
Advertiser sub id values can also be passed down to the Affiliate's tracking system by leveraging CAKE's tokens. To locate the tokens, follow these steps:
- Open the Action Menu
- Scroll to the bottom of the menu and click Show Tokens
- Copy the applicable token and provide to your affiliate or update the campaign tracking pixel on their behalf.
FAQ
Can I aggregate by the values I collect in as advertiser sub ids?
Today, we recommend exporting the conversion report to Excel if you need to aggregate on the values. However, aggregated reporting in CAKE is being considered as a later phase of this project.
Can I create pay-in or pay-out rules based on the values I collect in my advertiser sub ids?
Payment rules are being considered as a later phase of this project.
Can I select which affiliates can/can't see advertiser sub ids in their portal?
Today, any reporting column enabled in an affiliate portal, including advertiser sub id columns, will display across all affiliate portals.
