How to Update Domain Name Server (DNS) Records

As part of setting up your white-labeled instance, CAKE will need control over the domains you are using for your Admin Portal and Tracking domains via name servers placed on the domain hosting records.  After designating your CAKE specific domains, you will need to point or place our name servers or (depending on your setup) a CNAME record with your Domain Registrar/Hosting provider.  Your CAKE Implementation Specialist or Account Manager will provide you with your specific name server locations.

1. After receiving your specific name servers from CAKE, log-in to the hosting provider for your CAKE allocated domains

Log-in to the hosting provider for your CAKE allocated domains.  Need help?  Below is a list of major domain hosting providers:

Bluehost

Dyn & Nettica

Dynadot

2. Update your DNS Records

Follow the instructions at your domain hosting provider to make your name server updates.

If you've selected a subdomain for your Admin domain, CAKE will provide a CNAME to point to. Otherwise, please place the CAKE designated name servers for your Admin domain and any tracking domains provided by your CAKE Implementation Specialist or Account Manager.

3. Notify your CAKE Implementation Specialist or Account Manager

Notify your Implementation Specialist or Account Manager that these name servers have been set. When propagated, SSL certificates will be purchased on your behalf.
