How to Customize Lead Tier Payouts on Offers and Campaigns

Customizing Lead Tier Payouts on the Offer

Once Lead Tiers are created on the Vertical Card, you can set tier-specific payouts on the Offer's Contracts tab. These become the inherited default payouts for any Campaigns created under that Offer Contract.

  1. Open the Offer Card and click the Contracts tab.
  2. Click a Contract in the left panel to open the right-hand panel, then click the Lead Tiers tab.
  3. Double-click a Lead Tier row to open it for editing.
  4. Set the Affiliate payout for that tier — this becomes the inherited pricing for campaigns created from this Contract.
  5. Configure the Fire Pixel setting — controls whether CAKE fires third-party pixels for leads qualifying for this tier. Pixel firing rules apply: server/postback pixels can only trigger other postback pixels; iFrame and JavaScript pixels can embed any pixel type; image pixels cannot piggyback except postbacks.
  6. Click Save.
Note on legacy Offers: For Offers created before Lead Tiers were added to the Vertical, CAKE defaults Campaign pricing to the Affiliate payout on the Campaign and shows "See Campaign Payout" in italicized text. For Offers created after Lead Tiers are added, CAKE pulls the default payout from the Vertical's Offer Contract automatically.

Customizing Lead Tier Payouts on the Campaign

You can override the Offer-level tier payouts for individual Campaigns — useful when a specific Affiliate negotiates different rates per tier.

  1. Open the Campaign Card.
  2. Click the Lead Tiers tab. The payouts inherited from the Offer are displayed.
  3. Double-click the tier row you want to override.
  4. Update the Affiliate payout.
  5. Click Save.
Important: At the Campaign level, only the Affiliate payout can be customized. Pixel firing logic for tiers is controlled at the Offer level only and cannot be overridden per Campaign.

How to Revert to Standard Pricing

If you want to stop using Lead Tier pricing on an Offer or Offer Contract and return to standard pricing (CPC, CPA, RevShare, etc.):

  1. Open the Offer Card → Contracts → Lead Tiers tab.
  2. Double-click the tier row.
  3. Delete the price value from the payout field. The field should revert to showing "See Campaign Payout".
  4. Click Save.

Campaigns created under this Contract will now use their standard Campaign-level payout rather than tier-based pricing.
