Schedules & Automated Reports in CAKE

This article will cover the following:

What Are Scheduled Reports?

A scheduled report is a snapshot of your CAKE data — clicks, conversions, revenue, and more — that CAKE automatically generates and emails on a repeating basis. Instead of logging in and running the same report every week, you set it up once and let CAKE do the work.

Note:
Scheduled reports are delivered as email attachments (CSV or PDF). They reflect data at the moment they run, so a weekly report sent Monday morning covers the previous week's activity.

Report Types You Can Schedule

Report TypeWhat It ShowsMost Useful For
Affiliate SummaryClicks, conversions, and payout by affiliateAccount managers reviewing partner performance
Advertiser SummaryTraffic and conversion totals by advertiserAdvertisers checking campaign delivery
Offer PerformanceClicks, CVR, revenue per offerAffiliates tracking which offers are converting
Conversion ReportIndividual conversion recordsReconciling counts and spotting discrepancies
Invoice / Billing ReportPayable and receivable totalsFinance teams and automated billing cycles
Creative PerformanceClicks and conversions by creative/bannerOptimizing ad creative
Tip:
Not sure which report to schedule? Run it manually first. If the data looks right and you'd want to see it regularly, it's a good candidate for a schedule.

How to Create a Report Schedule

1
Log in to CAKE and go to Reports in the main navigation menu.
2
Select the report type you want to schedule (for example, Affiliate Summary).
3
Apply any filters you want — date range, specific offers, affiliates, or advertisers. These filters will be saved with the schedule.
4
Click the Schedule or Create Schedule button (usually near the top-right of the report page).
5
Choose the frequency: Daily (covers previous day), Weekly (covers prior 7 days), or Monthly (covers prior calendar month).
6
In the Recipients field, enter one or more email addresses separated by commas. Recipients do not need a CAKE login.
7
Give the schedule a clear, descriptive name — for example, "Weekly Affiliate Summary — Brand X Offers."
8
Choose the file format — CSV for data analysis, PDF for sharing with non-technical stakeholders.
9
Click Save. The schedule is now active.
Caution:
If you leave a filter blank, the report will include all records for that dimension, which can make the file very large. Be specific with your filters, especially for high-traffic accounts.

How to Edit or Pause a Schedule

1
Go to Reports and look for Scheduled Reports or My Schedules in the sidebar or under a settings menu.
2
You'll see all schedules with their frequency, last run date, and current status.
3
To edit, click the schedule name or edit icon. Update any field — frequency, recipients, filters, name, or format — then click Save.
4
To pause, open the schedule and change its status to Inactive. Toggle it back to Active to resume.
5
To delete, use the delete icon and confirm. Deletion is permanent.
Tip:
Pause rather than delete a schedule when you're unsure whether you'll need it again. Paused schedules retain all settings and can be reactivated with one click.

Tips for Effective Schedules

  • Match the frequency to how often the data changes. Daily schedules make sense for high-volume campaigns; monthly works well for billing and reconciliation.
  • Name schedules clearly. Include the report type, filter scope, and recipient context in the name — e.g. "Monthly Advertiser Summary — Acme Media."
  • Audit your schedule list quarterly. Remove schedules that are no longer sending to active email addresses.
  • Use CSV for data; PDF for stakeholders. CSVs are easier to process programmatically; PDFs are easier for executives and clients to review without a spreadsheet tool.
  • Set filters that match your payout period. This makes the data directly usable for reconciliation without post-processing.
